K9FON , Feb 1, I've seen one If you're running less than W, it may help to replace the 80m trap with the smaller mobile version as it'd be easier to hide inside the PVC pipe like the version I saw. I suppose if you kept the original 'fat' 80m trap, that it might look fine as a finial topper on your new PVC flagpole, but a ' whip and coil sticking out the top of your flagpole will not hide the fact that it's really an antenna.

My question is this; if I encase the antenna in 2" thin wall PVC pipe from top to bottom, add on all the flag hardware- pully, rope, tie-off, ball on top, flag, etc. Or will the PVC act like a stiffner and brace up the whole works? Although this radical modification is something of a well known trick, I am very skeptical at best of this setup.
